FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPOSITION OVERVIEW As a mixer you are vital to the manufacturing process and the first line of protection in order for Beaverton Foods to manufacture finished products in accordance with company and FDA, USDA, ODA standards, safety regulations and quality control measures. As a mixer you will oversee and assist with the creation of our famous products from Sweet Hot Mustard to Creamy Horseradish. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The information provided below encompasses the functions and capabilities linked with this position.

This position is responsible to support all HACCP, Food Safety, Food Fraud, Food Defense programs and regulations by completing all Lot Tracking, Critical Control Point and Sanitation requirements.
Reviews daily production schedule with assigned assistant mixer and line operator.
Works closely with assigned assistant mixer to stage ingredients for efficient mixing operation.
Collects keys to locks for lockout procedures and assembles mixing apparatus according to production schedule.
Places ingredients according to written formulas in appropriate mixing apparatus. Operates mixing apparatus for particular formula in accordance with written specifications, quality assurance guidelines and safety procedures.
Ensures products are manufactured using Good Manufacturing Practices and that Allergen and HACCP principles are utilized.
Tests the pH of each batch of product and records the results. Informs quality assurance if pH is out of specification.
Notifies quality Assurance Manager or Mixing supervisor of substandard raw ingredients or inconsistencies of products in process.
Follow documented procedures for Lot Tracking and coordinate efforts with Inventory Control personnel.
Performs lockout procedures and disassembles mixing apparatus, including pumps and grinders, in order to carry out sanitation procedures.
Cleans and disinfects mixing utensils, tools, buckets, bins, and general work areas. Completes required production paperwork.
Notifies mixing supervisor when raw ingredients or supplies are low or missing.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of GMPs and Allergen programs, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Quality Assurance, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Forklift & Aerial Lift programs, Sanitation programs and all other relevant safety procedures. Participates in plant sanitation projects, mandatory training and overtime work.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months experience in food processing or food handling highly preferred
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and written formulas and safety procedures. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
